I don't understand the problem, the current API is documented and the sources for all clients are free and open.
And it should be a decision of the people who pay for the server if an interface/API is appropriate which causes more traffic due to a larger overhead.

Hi,
of Course!
We need a documented API than everyone can build his own application and can use the service!

Hi,
Hello all, Somebody try new api ?
I try somewhere https://github.com/openwifi-su/openwifi_linux_bash but seems working not good.
I got a discussion with johannes about this (he is also on this list). I think the best way is, that we create a new backend. But we should create a plan what does the backend should do.
After that we can develop a REST API with a proper documentation.
what do the others think?
cheers Tarek
