Threats to civil liberties have changed shape with the growth of technology, but EFF members continue to rise to the occasion to fight for the users. In these extraordinary times, I am asking you to answer our call to protect the cornerstones of democracy: privacy and free expression.

EFF has led the movement to protect digital freedom since before the spread of the Web as we know it today, and it's ordinary supporters who forged EFF into a bulwark against attempts at legal and policy overreach that threaten our fundamental freedoms. Together we’re addressing serious issues including rampant warrantless device searches at the border, an opportunity to end U.S. domestic spying under Section 702, and the precarious state of the open Internet.

Member support has allowed EFF to fight back by suing the Department of Homeland Security to protect travelers’ privacy at the border, asking the Supreme Court to address unconstitutional surveillance under 702 in United States v. Mohamud, and shepherding hundreds of thousands of pro-net neutrality comments to the Federal Communications Commission. These are long battles that will change the way that we interact for years to come, and we need your help to succeed in setting things right.
